I'm looking for information on my family. My great great grandfather John Olaf Anderson was born in Norway in 1859. I am told that he came to the US in 1882 and that his fathers name was Andrew Anderson. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

He settled in North Manitou Island, Michigan. He married a Ildra Nerland in 1890.

Census-1900 for Leland township, Leelanau, Michigan says born Feb 1860, immigrated 1882.

Here is John Anderson's marriage record to Ildra (or Ildri), his father's name is Andrew Isakson & mother's name Olea Larson (married by a Norwegian pastor John J. Markestad). Ildri's father's name is Mad probably Aslackson her mother's name not known:

Nundalen = Namdalen, a region in the northern part of av Nord-Trøndelag county.

Immigration year varies a lot.1900 Census above we have 1882. From 1910 we have 1880 and from 1920 we have 1879.

#8, Andreas Isaksen Bjørhusdalen (40) died 11 Jun 1863. Buried 13 Mar 1864.

Andreas was buried 9 months after he died. He drowned in the salmon river Namsen, who passes by the Bjørhusdalen farm, while doing log floating, and was found the next spring.

Ildre Nerland emigrating on 15 May 1889, together with mother and sister.

Mads Aslaksen in census-1865.

Carpenter Mads Nerland emigrated the year before, on Aug. 23rd, 1888. (His y.o.b. is 10 years off.) Travelling together with him is daughter Marit Nerland (19).

Parents: Mads Alsaksen Meland (28) & Gjertru Olsdatter (23)

Ildra's mother Gertrude Hanson in census-1900. She married Hans Hanson on 06 Jul 1893.
Ildra's father Mads Aslaksen Nerland drowned in Lake Michigan in 1890.
