Here is a marriage of a Marte Haroldsdatter to John Erikson in Alden, Polk county, Wisconsin 1879:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XRG9-5YG

The same database also has a marriage for a Christian Haroldson who has the same parents listed Harold Clementson and Mari Pedersdatter

Yes, she was married twice. We were told her first husband died, and then she married Jahn Peder Svendsen. She had 4 children with Erikson. Maybe they had it backwards. She was married to Jahn Peder Svendsen, then Erikson? She married Svendsen in Norway, and had 4 children with him. Very interesting, This history is starting to come alive. Thank you so much for your input. I just love this site!

Actually I found her information on your site, I'm so glad you pointed me there, Her name was Haraldsdatter. Her children are listed here, well most of them. It appears as thought Petter and Martin (both born in Norway), her brothers were living with them is Alden Township, Star Prairie Wisconsin It also states that Henry was born in Norway, I wonder what happened to his father. May have to hunt for a death certificate for Jahn Peder Svendsen.

I have to look at the other two references to Nils and Anne. Once again, thank you so much.

Its strange though, John Erikson is spelled John Erikon. Misspelling you think?

Oh my goodness,. Henry is Nils Henrik Jan Pettersen? His father was Jan Petter Swensen and his mother was Marte Haroldsdatter.., I'm guessing there was a lot of misspelling and even changing of names between countries. this is amazing! Once again, thank you so much! I'll see if my Norwegian friends on this forum can now help me find his birth record

I have a picture of his (5 shown) children, and I don't even know who they are.
