I am searching Jenny Amalie Jansen born Jørstad in Strømsø Drammen Norway 22. Mars 1858.
I have fond that she in 1885 visited her father Christinan Larsen Jørstad in Drammen Norway at Christmas 1885. (Norway Census http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01053263013499). Then she had her douther Eva Sophie born the same year 1885 with her.
I belive she lived in USA but are not sure about that. I have not found her marrige in Norway so I don't know the name of her husbond otherwise his family name is Jansen and are born in Norway? Can have schanged the spelling in USA ex. Janson
Hope someone kan find something about her. Ske was a aunt of my mother.

- her daughter was born in Amerika, see census.
I believe she may be the one who was married to Petter Jansen, they were living in Chicago and had the daughters Clara in 1889, Grace in 1891, and Alice in 1894.

A possible marriage from the Illinois Marriages 1763-1900 database:
JOHNSON, PEDER JOHNSON, AMALIA 1888-06-27 00128532 COOK

Not possible anymore.

Acording to census in 1885 (31, dec) she was married at that time. She used the name Jansen for her self and the schild Eva Sophie.
I stil miss the link between PeterJohnson mentioned (Kåarto) and Petter Jansen (eibacke)

It never happens that there is a baby before marriage. But here is the link to the site, you may want to look for yourself:

http://cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/databases/marriage.html

This is probably the correct marriage:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N7WQ-7J4
Name: Peter Olaf Johnson
Age: 33
Birth Year (Estimated): 1851
Birth Date: 1851
Spouse's Name: Jennie Amalia Jaska
Spouse's Age: 26
Spouse's Birth Year (Estimated): 1858
Spouse's Birth Date: 1858
License Type: Marriage
Event Date: 24 May 1884
Event Place: Cook, Illinois

Her last name is a bit of a muddle but this may be an interpretation of the original handwritten record.

If this is the same Peter Olaf Johnson, and Jennie Amalie is yours, it's a bit ominous for Jenny. From the 1763-1900 marriage database:
JOHNSON, PETER OLAF JESKA, JENNIE AMALIE 1884-05-24 00082195 COOK
JOHNSON, PETER OLAF KASPERSEN, OVIDIA KASPARA 1888-03-17 00124784 COOK

Probably Jenny's departure in 1880:

I belive the persons that Kåarto have is most likely the right one. Here she use the name Jorstad which is Jenny Amalie's family name. She is also born 22. Mar 1858. So the marrige may bee right.

This may be "Eva's" return trip to Chicago in 1886. Her age is a bit off and the adult Johnson traveling with is Anny Johnson whose age is also a bit off, but o well:

The Peter and Amalia Johnson that "eibache" fond can't be the right one. This Amalia is born in USA and is born 1862.

- I would not rule her out due to a census. The records for the children I mentioned show her being born in Norway.

Can you show link to census that says Amelia is born in Norway. The one I find 1900 and 1910 says Amelia was born in Illinois in 1862 and not 1858.

Sohie's birth again (previously posted from Family Search) - here from Ancestry.com:
Cook County, Illinois, Birth Certificates Index, 1871-1922
Name: Sophie Johnsen
Birth Date: 18 Jun 1885
Birth Place: Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Gender: Female
Father: Peter Johnsen
Mother: Jenny Jorstad
FHL Film Number: 1287847

Perhaps this is the couple found earlier in 1910 - and it is the wrong woman, not "our" Jennie.

MARRIAGE
27 June 1888
Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Name: Amalia Johnson
Age: 26, born abt 1862
Spouse Name: Peder Johnson
Spouse Age: 28
FHL Film Number: 1030174

1900 US Census
Chicago Ward 11, Cook, Illinois
Peter Johnson 40
Emelia Johnson 38 born APRIL 1862 in Illinois, married 1888 ------ not Jennie BD
Children: Clara, Grace, Jennie, Alice, Esther, Evelyn, Florence
Olina Johnson 80

US Census 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, and 1940 say the above Amelia is born in Illinois.

And perhaps this is the death of that Amelia, below:
Name: Amelia Johnson
Birth Date: 4 Apr 1862 <------- [a different birthday from Jennie]
Birth Place: Chicago, Cook Co , Ill
Death Date: 8 Jan 1944
Death Place: Chicago, Cook Co , Ill
Burial: 12 Jan 1944
Burial Place: Graceland, Chicago, Cook Co., Ill.
Residence: Chicago, Cook Co., Ill.
Father: Andrew Johnson b Norway
Mother: Olive Johnson b Norway
Spouse: Peter
FHL Film Number: 1953894

Yes, Amelia b 1862 is a different woman with different birth date and parents.
I didn't find Jennie Amalie in US census (in the time I had available for searching).

She married Peter Oluf Johnson in Chicago 1884, as posted.
A Peter Oluf Johnson got married in Chicago in 1888 to Ovidia Kaspersen, as posted.
I haven't continued to see if Jennie Amalia maybe died 1885-1888, but seemingly she may have.
