You asked about marriage record for Hans Thygesen and Birthe Halvorsdatter. Here it is, in 1854, in Kviteseid church book.

Hi again Jane
Thanks for clearing issues regarding the spelling up for me and attaching the document explaining Norwegian naming. This is a confusing issue for me mainly because I am not use to it.
You were all so thorough in providing the marriage and proof that Olaf was born to Hans Tygesen & Birthe. Their two names are specifically named as his parents in the death notice of Olaf I found in South Africa.
No I am at this stage only focus site gives on Olaf first marriage but think I will extend it further.

Some words ca be dif. to read. From the record we read that "Pige" Maid Birthe Halvorsdatter was from farm Homme. In column 7 we read that her father was Halvor Johnsen Homme. Homme is located to the northern shores of Lake Vrċvatn.

A topic from 2013 reg. her sister Margit Halvorsdatter born on Homme April 25. 1847, click HERE

Thank you Kċre, for the transcription of the further details in the marriage record for Hans and Birthe. Indeed I did omit that information, being unsure of reading the difficult handwriting.

Don't be afraid to ask for help
Anyone who studies genealogy starts at zero. What do you think is hardest. Many have problems with the old naming practice that ended ca 1900.

You are welcome.
The family-tree is owned by Kviteseid municipality.
Enter login up in the right corner. I think there will be no problem for you to apply for a new user account.
Then you will get access to the whole "Bygde-book" from Kviteseid.

Hi there all
Kare just to let you know I have applied for the account with Kviteseid and my name has been verified, I am just waiting for the confirmation email which I hope I will get. Thanks for your help.
Also what you and Jane might find interesting is that I have contacted Bert who enquired regarding the King Cenric and we could confirm details that we are cousins.
My dad SIgurd and his dad Berthram are two of Olaf Hansen kids. My dad is from Olaf's second marriage and his from the first marriage. SO thanks for that link you send to me to follow up. Bert did not know Olaf as he passed away before his birth, but his dad Bertram has apparently worked with Olaf on the railways in South Africa building bridges. Bertram has also already passed away but Bert will try to find some photos and information that he might have saved somewhere.
In the last day I have also requested both the first and second wives of Olaf's death certificates and this should be available around end May. It will be interesting to see what details are on them.
Thanks for your help in my search. It is getting more interesting every day and I can see why you are so enthusiastic about genealogy.
Hannelie
