What is truly puzzling about this is how Pauline Olsdatter managed to avoid being listed in either the 1865 or 1870 Kristiania census, despite evidence suggesting she likely lived near Lakkegaten in Kristiania during that time.

If it were easy, it wouldn't be on our forum!

It is also on Digitalarivet Users Forum and it does not look very easy there either.

One factoid that is on the Digitalarkivet's User's forum in the appropriate topic, not sure it was reported here:

"...1856 Halvor Svendsen and wife Pouline Olsdatter buried a stillborn child in Berg https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20060604010892 I believe he is listed as Styrmand (helmsman) and they were living at Torp at the time. There is no information that they were just passing by.
You already had this on your 'maybe' list. Unfortunately I still have no idea where they come from or when they were born, and there are several places called Torp in Berg. I haven't found this couple electronically searching for people living at Torp* in Berg at any other instance. Nor have I found their wedding, nor moving in or out of the parish. ...."
