I am not sure what you are looking for related to the Solberg farm, or Solbergejet - anyhow maybe the christening record for Kari is of interest see #6 from the top on the right hand page here
Her sister Kirstine was born in 1803, see #5 from the top on the right hand page here
She could be the second wife 42 years old Anders Johannesen married in 1845.
Your gggrandfather Jacob is #37
he was an "uægte" child and the parents were widow and widower.
The death record for Kari, Anders Johannesens wife is #16
The Anders Johannesen baptized Febr 10 1811 have to be the one you are looking for.
Mari Johnsdatters marriage was most likely to Jacob Tronsen, Hurumejet, see #12.
She was then 30 years old. Jacob and Mari had a son in 1831, see #11

Einar,

Thank you, for the connection. The information you have given me has shed some light. I think I have found a link.

I was looking at Kari and Kristine's birth records for their godparents names to see if any would be listed the same as Jacob's. But when you found the birth records for Jacob's 1/2 brother John, Mari must have been very close with Kari and Kristine. On John's birth record Kari is listed as a godparent. On Jacob's birth record Kristine is listed as a godparent. So now I have some idea where Anders comes into play (in more ways than one) I was looking for the farm name in order to see if I could find the bygdebok to show all of the families to see if there was a correlation between the Jacob Christiansen's family and Mari Johnsdatter's family. I am not sure how close the farms are together.

Here is a new item I need assistance with. One of my cousins obtain a signature of Knud Trosdahle.

This is what the inscription says. Knud Trosdahle underskrift og signet pa downment 13.awgw8 1787.

I looked up Knud Trosdahle on the 1801 census - which there is only one: Parish Waage, farm Hammer
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=2&filnamn=f10515&gardpostnr=76&personpostnr=1545#nedre
He has a son Anders.
On Mari Johnsdatter and Jacob Tronsen wedding there is an Anders Krudsen (he would have about 38 at the time of the wedding) listed, I think he would have been Mari's best man. Could this be the same person?

Can you tell me what the inscription means. Under the signature is has a "T" with a small circle, then filigree around it, then a larger circle around that. It looks all hand drawn.

The Knud Trosdahl you're linking to was the local sheriff in Waage, Oppland.

Knud Trosdahle, signed on document April(?) 13th, 1787.

The local sheriff had to sign a lot of documents, records from the probate court etc..

I am trying to find the death record for Jacob Tronsen - Hurum. He was married to Mari Johnsdatter in 1830, but Mari became a widow before 1836. They had a son John born in 1831.

Thank you Einar,

I am going to throw this one out there for any thoughts. I feel I can safely say that the Anders Johannessen I have been looking for is as follows:

Anders Johannessen: Father Johannes Jensen and Anne Nilsdatter

This is why I feel that he is my ggggrandfather.

1. In 1830 Mari Johnsdatter marries Jacob Tronsen
2. April 5, 1831 Anders Johannessen marries Kari Jacobsdatter
3. 1831 Mari Johnsdatter and Jacob Tronsen have their first son John Jacobsen and Kari Jacobsdatter is his godparent.
4. Feb 19, 1832 Jacob Tronsen dies.
5 June 19, 1835 Kari Jacobsdatter dies.
6. May 5, 1836 Jacob Anderson (my gggrandfather is born) parents Anders Johannessen and Mari Johnsdatter. Kristine Jacobsdatter is his godparent. I figure that Mari ended up pregnant from Anders around September 1835. I also wonder if Anders Johannessen hung around to help raise Jacob and John for a while before he married again.
7. 1845 Anders Johannessen marries Kari's sister Kristine.

Does all of this make sense and sound like I have all the players to confirm this is my Anders Johannessen?

Thanks again.

Haven't heard anything from the experts? Jan or Einar can you please comment. Did I need to attach links or is the narrative OK?

I really don't know what Anders could have been doing between Sept 1835 and June 1845. Your other listings seem quite all right - had to put it a little different to see how things were going - I am a little slow! This is what I used as a check
Mari Johnsdatter (1800 - ) married widower Jacob Tronsen (1780 - 1832) in 1830
Mari Johnsdatter became a widow in 1832.
Johannes Jensen and Anne Nilsdatter were parents to Anders Johannessen (b. 1811) - he married Kari Jacobsdatter (b. 1806 – d. 1835) in 1831 – Karis parents Jacob Christiansen and Marte Christophersdatter
Anders Johannesen became a widower in 1835.
Widower Anders Johannesen (b. 1811) and widow Mari Johnsdatter were parents to your gggrandfather Jacob Andersen, Hurum, born May 5 1836
Widower Anders Johannessen (b. 1811) married Kirstine Jacobsdatter (b. 1803 - ) in 1845 – Kristines parents Jacob Christiansen and Marte Christophersdatter

Where can I find out more information about the reading of the wedding bands? It is an interesting tradition. Why does it usually happen for 3 weeks before the wedding?

Go to any good Internet search engine - type in to search for the phrase "marriage banns".
This is NOT a specifically Norwegian tradition - many churches "publish the banns".

Can you help me find Nils Kristofferson and Eli Paulsdatter on the 1801 census? Maybe there is a different spelling, but I am going by the bygebok for Hole and this is the spelling it has for each person.
