A look at the people, both parents and witnesses for the two Anna's at 98 and 99 from above with Anders at 107 in the following link shows a lot of the same names. I wonder if the Anna who married Anders is not from Lærdal, Sogn og Fjordane just as Anders is.

Hi,

A lot of the passenger lists from 1867 have been transcribed at this site. Here is an Anne Andersen, 23 Sondre Aurdal:

I've been looking for more info about the cousin Gunder Enerson... either a cousin of Anna or of her husband.

Does these names bring any news to the story?

Gunder Enerson are mentioned, and so are a man named Einar Enerson..., I'm not sure how or if they are related?
Einar Enerson lived in Wisconsin, and seems to be from Skedsmo in Akershus.

Einar Enerson & Karoline Andersdatter
Marriage Date: 01 May 1875, Halfway Creek, La Crosse, Wisconsin
His parents: Einard Hendrikson & Anna Nilsdatter. Her parents: Anders Erikson & Karen Olsdatter

Census-1880?

Henrik Emersen(A brother?)
Death Date: 26 Feb 1884, La Crosse, La Crosse, Wisconsin
Age: 40
Birth Date: 03 May 1843
Birthplace: Norway
Occupation: Saloon Keeper
Marital Status: Single
Parents: Einar Henriksen & Anne Nilsen

Einar/Ener Henriksen are from Solberghagen farm in Skedsmo, Akershus.
A land register from 1838 shows him at Løken farm, also in Skedsmo.

Census-1865
Anne Nilsd (61) is a widow
Sons:
Otto Enersen (29)
Ener Enersen (21)
Hans Enersen (31)

Unfortunately, I have no people by that name in the family tree. I have listed parents and children in my tree but those names are not in there. I will research this some more to see if we can find them in the tree. I am looking at Anders Jakobson Jackson Bruvoll side since I have nothing on Anna's side. it would make more sense if the name Jakobson or Jackson came in there.

For Anders siblings, I have the following:
Lesse ( Later Lewis) Jakobson Bruvoll
Johannes Jakobson Bruvoll
Kristi Jakobdatter Bruvoll (married James N. Johnson)
Anna Jakobsdatter Bruvoll
Tore Jakobson Bruvoll
Jakob Jakobson Bruvoll

Are you now switching to inquiring for someone other than Anna Anderson? How do you research "Anders Jakobson Jackson Bruvoll" with absolutely no vital dates?

I doesn't fit with her parents being "Andrew Anderson & Clara Anderson", so I don't think she's the one.

Hi,

Here is the obit published on Gunder Enerson in the Decorah Posten 21 Aug 1947 as collected in the Rowberg Biographical File:

Gunder's family is found in Terje Østro's Gard og Slektshistorie for Nes i Hallingdal, Nesgjerdingen B, III page 97 under Majormoen farm. His parent's are Ole Einarsen and Birgit Gunnarsdatter Fuglesang (she from Rollag b. 1848 d. 1909). As noted in the obit quite a few of his siblings came to America, a number in Crawford County, Wisconsin. An interesting wrinkle is that instead of using Olson they use their father's patronymic of Einarsen modified to Enerson. Gunder has 2 brothers in US of the name Einar the eldest b. 1869 was still alive in 1925 and in 1897 has a residence named "Liberty Pole". The other Einar was born in 1879 came to US about 1897 and used the name Enoch Enerson and lived at LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

About Einar Lasseson Kattevol -Hagen (under nedre Kvame) and his wife, the book also reports on page 96 that Einar's parents are Lasse Hallvardsen Hagen fra Lo 1786-1832 & Mari Einarsdtr Hagen b 1785. The wife Kari's parents are Ole Johannesen Nedrelo fra Steingjerde b 1799 d 1887 and Liv Knutsdtr fra Aarheim b 1799-1841. Einar's dates are given as b 1816 d 1879 and Kari's dates b 1823 d 1910 and both their parish of origin is Borgund. The source for this information is given as "Lærdal bygdebok I page 54 and 169"

Hope this helps

Jackie M.

Lucas, have you not traced Anna's husband back to Lærdal, Sogn og Fjordane, I seem to remember seeing that somewhere but right now cannot remember where.

Einar Lassesen is a brother of Mette Lassedr, the mother of Anders Jakobsen.

Children of Lasse Halvorsen Nedre Kvame & Mari Einardr 'under Nedre Qvamme':
Born 28 APR 1831, Anders Lassesen
Born 15 FEB 1819, Halver Lassesen
Born 27 MAR 1816, Einer Lassesen
Born 01 FEB 1813, Metha Lassedr

So many names... where is the connection? :)
But I think this is true:
Metha Lassedr = Matilda Jackson = Mother of Andrew Jackson, born 17 OCT 1846.
The name "Einar" is often used in her family, so I think this is where the cousin Gunder Enerson 28 (census-1900) comes in,

Thank you Jackie M., that solved a bit of the puzzle!

The family moved to Hallingdal on 13 SEP 1849:
Einar Lassesen, Nedre Kvame, 34
Kari Olsdatter, 27
Ole Einarsen, 6 [= the father of "cousin Gunder Enerson"]
Lasse Einarsen, 2

Hi,

Gunder Enerson's father is Ole Einarsen. Ole Einarsen's father is Einar Lasseson. Einar Lasseson's sister is Mette Lassesdatter and Mette is mother of Andrew Jackson who married Anna Andersen.

So Gunder is related on Andrew's side of the family rather than Anna's... Back to square 1 for her.
