Several Anna s there...and cousin Gunder Enerson and Andrew Jackson and this:

Anderson, Anna 1836---1929

I think the confirmation record of Anna Andersdatter posted previously gave her vaccination date as in 1836, perhaps.... Since the text is arranged alphabetically and not how the stones lay, perhaps a stone with her "maiden" name was read like that and because the sort took it out of context, might lead to another interpretation.. Somebody on the ground perhaps can take a look sometime.

Hi,

Interesting about the differences between the find-a-grave version and the usgenweb version. In the genweb version there are no stones with full dates. In the find-a-grave version there are only 44 interments....

Lucas you may also want to get the church registers for Utica Lutheran, Rising Sun Lutheran, and West Prairie Lutheran. ALC churches registers were microfilmed in the 1970s and are available for loan through the ELCA archives at www.elca.org. Contact the archivist, Joel Thoreson. The rental is $15 for1 reel for 1 month + postage . The film comes to your door and you may then take to any library which has a microfilm reader / printer. If these church's records have been filmed you might check to get exact dates for the folks and if Anna married Andrew in the church, early pastors, trained in the old ways, often record additional information about partners in marriage + biographical detail when they die and the godparents for the children (and children for whom Anna & Andrew may have stood faddernes) were often relatives & friends. You can also hire the ELCA to search for you but personally I find searching oneself almost always scores the most complete results.

The Wisconsin State Census for 1895 is not a very informative document but looking at it for Crawford County one can find an Andrew Jackson with 4 male members and 4 female members. What is of some interest is that the next three familes in the list are all Simes. Because of the way the page is folded it is difficult to read the first names but it looks like Ole T Sime with 3 males and 3 females, Something O Sime with one male and Ole D Sime with one male and three females.

The connection between Andrew Jackson and the Sime family is quite apparent now that we are aware of it.

Name: Andrew Jackson
Census Date: 1895
Residence County: Crawford
Residence state: Wisconsin
Locality: Utica
Line: 10
Roll: v226_11
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members: Name Age
Andrew Jackson

Hi,

In the 1900 census Anna Jackson's answer to the question of how many children born and how many living is: 4 born / 3 living. Of course in 1910 it's 3 born / 3 living...

Something doesn't make sense here. Looking at the 1880 census record, I see it lists Andrew Jackson living in Utica, Wisconsin with his mother "Matte" but it lists Andrew as widower. This is just a few months before he is married to Anna Anderson. Also, I just noticed that Jakob (His son) is 4 years old at the time. Maybe Andrew was married twice???

Here is the census record...

Another clue just came up: Looking a little deeper, I found that Anna Anderson and Andrew Jackson had a few children. The mentioned above (Jacob) was not the child of Anna Anderson. Looking at the notes, I found that Jacob married someone named Lena born about 1887 in Wisconsin. The notes say that it is said by the family that "Lena" was a child of Johannes and Anna Rowe (Raa). . Not sure if that helps.

Hi Lucas,

Yes you should be interested in the "half" relations of both Andrew and Anna.

A Jake Jackson 1875-1951 and Lena Jackson 1886- ____ are buried in the Utica Lutheran Church cemetery.

I didn't see Jacob Jackson in the Crawford County marriages at the usgenweb site but there are 15 Jacob Jackson marriages at the Wisconsin Historical Society site (none recorded in Crawford County)

The church registers of Utica Lutheran may yield information about both Andrew's & Anna's other marriages and children.
