That's wight. It seems like a real nut. I tried to seek the same Sin the national census of 1900. She was not there. The national census give information of birthplace.
I will now write to the archive and ask for the paper about his Jennie's father's assets. Hope to find some leads there.
I will be at the hospital for a week or to so I have time to read all of this topic and see if I have overlooked something or there is something untried.
The reply from the archive will take some time. I will come back as soon as I find something. Until then many thanks for the effort everybody has had to solve the case.

Hi TOK, hope all goes well. Get well soon. :D

To explain, reason to follow various descendants is we can't find the person we most want, Jenny. Tracing descendants might help lead to her; as one example, living descendants of the extended family might have news of her.

I haven't found more on Sophie Datz.

Husband of Alice Pauline Johnson - Walter H Michelson - had a daughter Vera Busse (named in his obit).

Find a Grave memorial for Vera Helena Michelson Busse says she married Norman Clarence Busse (1903-1994). FAG says Vera was born 24 Jan 1900 in Chicago; died 11 Jan 1951 in Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee.

1940 US census
Grant Township, Lake, Illinois
Norman Busse 37
Vera Busse 40
Norman Busse 12
Ronald Busse 7

US Social Security Death Index lists a
Norman C Busse b 16 Aug 1927, d 03 Feb 2006
Last residence Linden, Perry, Tennessee
Soc sec # issued Illinois

Obviously it's a long shot whether descendants have any stories about Peter Olaf Johnson or Jenny Jorstad.

A long shot, but it may be the only way that Tarald ever ties together the threads of this story. Good job on finding more descendants of the possible relatives of Jenny Amalie. Here is some more on the Datz side.

Birth record of Edward Datz

NAME: Edward Datz
BIRTH DATE: 31 Jul 1920
BIRTH PLACE: Chicago, Cook, Illinois
GENDER: Male
FATHER NAME: Edward Datz
FATHER'S AGE: 40
MOTHER NAME: Sophia Johnson
MOTHER'S AGE: 35
FHL FILM NUMBER: 1309408

And probably his death record.

NAME: Edward Datz
SSN: 358-10-6014
LAST RESIDENCE:
34695 Safety Harbor, Pinellas, Florida, USA
BORN: 31 Jul 1920
DIED: 13 Apr 2001

Okay, great. That leads to obit in St. Petersburg Times 16 April 2001 for Edward Datz, age 80, of Safety Harbor, born in Chicago, to Safety Harbor area in 1985, survived by wife Margaret and sister Alice Markus of Clearwater and five nieces and nephews.

A Margaret K Datz born 1919 died 2002 in Safety Harbor, Florida.

Sophie Johnson Datz would obviously be Alice's mother. Sophie is a strong candidate to be Jenny's daughter, but not the only candidate. If we can't establish Sophie parentage another way, I suppose the Markus family could be asked.
